Daimler AG develops, manufactures, distributes, and sells automotive products in approximately 200 countries worldwide. It has five divisions: Mercedes-Benz Cars, Daimler Trucks, Mercedes-Benz Vans, Daimler Buses, and Daimler Financial Services. The Mercedes-Benz Cars division offers products ranging from small cars of the smart brand to the premium automobiles of the Mercedes-Benz and AMG brands, and to the Maybach luxury sedans. The Daimler Trucks division offers vehicles under the brands Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, Western Star, and Mitsubishi Fuso. Its product range covers light, medium, and heavy trucks for local and long-distance deliveries, and construction sites, as well as special vehicles for municipal applications. In addition, its product range includes the buses of the Thomas Built Buses and Mitsubishi Fuso brands. The Mercedes-Benz Vans division comprises the van model range of the Mercedes-Benz brand: Vito and Viano, Sprinter, and Vario. The Daimler Buses division manufactures omnibuses with the brands Mercedes- Benz, Setra, and Orion for tourist, urban, and interurban applications, as well as bus chassis. The Daimler Financial Services division offers financing and leasing packages for its retail and wholesale customers in the automotive sector; and financing to dealers for vehicle inventory and property, plant, and equipment purchases. It also operates the Mercedes-Benz Bank that offers leasing and sales financing services, car savings plans, credit cards, and demand deposit accounts, as well as offers insurance brokerage and fleet management services, including dealer property and casualty insurance. Daimler AG markets its products and services through independent dealers and wholesale distributors, as well as through its own retail outlets. The company was formerly known as DaimlerChrysler AG and changed its name to Daimler AG in October 2007. Daimler AG was founded in 1883 and is headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany.
